Fast and fun – Ferret racing comes to the Cotswold Show
If you are fanatical about ferrets or keen to learn more about our furry friends you won’t want to miss this year’s ferret racing, new to the Cotswold Show.
The Hants and Berks Ferret Club will be bringing along their ferrets so you can get up close and personal with these friendly creatures; learn more about ferret welfare, care and handling whilst dispelling commonly-held misconceptions. Not forgetting, of course, having some fun too!
Anyone who is familiar with the little animals will know that ferrets just love tunnels and the club will be holding ferret racing every two hours throughout the two-day event. For just 20p you can double your money by choosing from the black, white, yellow or green tube and cheering on your winning ferret.
Watch the ferrets navigate the various obstacles as experienced handlers let them loose on the chicane, the see-saw and the water jump! Racing ferrets must reach the end of the tube and return with all four feet on the ground outside of the tube before the triumphant winner is announced.
Every member who attends the ferret shows throughout the summer is a volunteer. All money raised goes towards keeping the club up and running and helping the ferrets at various rescue centres.
