The Cotswold Show would not be complete without animals – this year expect falcons, horses, ferrets, alpacas, rare breed sheep, pigs and goats, ducks and chickens.
A humorous and educational live, static stage show.
All about sheep – Edu-tainment at its best!
9 sheep breeds on stage. Presented by our team in true Kiwi style. Sheep shearing and our unique ‘dancing sheep’. Fun and spectacular for all ages.
Practical Horsemanship is presented by Grant Bazin who has worked for legendary American horse whisperer Monty Roberts. Grant has travelled the world helping young and troubled horses overcome all manner of behavioural issues, using his understanding of equine behaviour and great blend of love for horses and sense of fun.
During this weekend’s display Grant will be working with a young horse that has never worn a saddle or carried a rider before, by using the methods he has learnt from a lifetime with horses. Just watch and see what can be achieved in a truly unique display that will wow the audience, from the layman to the expert equine enthusiast. This highly educational, fun and exciting display is not to be missed!!
Rare Breeds Pavilion
The Rare Breeds Pavilion is put together by Severn and Wye Rare Native Breeds. We are very fortunate to have such a diverse and wonderful collection of rare breed farming stock with us this year including pigs, goats, sheep, cart horses, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys.
Exhibitors will be on hand to answer any questions about the breeds on display in the pavilion
Cotswold Pheasant and Poultry Club
A group of fanciers involved in the breeding, exhibiting and presentation of Poultry, Ducks, Turkeys and Pheasants. The club has been in existence for over 30 years and is a friendly social club which meets once a month on an informal basis. They will be displaying around 80 pure-bred birds and members of the Club will be on hand to “chat chickens”.
Hook Norton Dray Shire Horses
Hook Norton Brewery are one of the last remaining breweries in the country that still use shire horses for weekday deliveries of beer. They have four shires in their stables at the brewery and are bringing them to the Show for you to meet.
Avon Valley Ferrets
Avon Valley Ferrets is a husband and wife team passionately dedicated to the welfare and well being of ferrets, the conservation status of our native polecat and upholding the traditional ways and true values of ferreting.
Paul and his wife Camilla travel to and attend many events during the summer months including country shows, game fairs, summer shows and group educational talks where they perform arena demonstrations on working ferrets, entertain members of the public with fun ferret racing and give educational talks. Their main objectives are to educate people and to promote all aspects of welfare toward these much maligned and little known about creatures as well as demonstrating the age old traditional method of rabbit control within the countryside using ferrets, nets and hawks.
